Run by the people who built it
Heavenly Hocking is Chris and Brasta: one brand-new cabin in the Hocking Hills today, run the way we'd want a place run if we were the ones arriving.
The lodge
We built Sleepy Bear Lodge in 2026 on 5.5 wooded acres outside Logan, Ohio: three floors, a king suite with its own bath on each, a bunk loft over the great room, a hot tub on the covered deck, a home theater and an arcade downstairs. Every photograph on this site is of this house, in its actual light.
How we run it
Our cleaning team is the core of the operation. The things the house manual promises are there because someone made sure before you arrived: coffee, creamer and sweeteners for both coffee makers, pods for the washer and dryer, Epsom salts and bubble bath for the soaking tub, the Pack 'n Play and high chair when a family asks.
We read our own messages. Before a stay, during it, and after, you're talking to us, not a call center. Send a note or write to ops@heavenlyhocking.com.
Why direct
Booking here removes the platform's guest service fee and nothing else: the same cabin, the same hosts, the same calendar, and the full price itemized before you pay. Your card is handled by Stripe; we never see the number.
Accessibility, stated plainly
The main-floor king suite has a step-free route from the gravel drive up a railed ramp, 36-inch doorways, and a roll-in shower with grab bars. The loft and the basement take stairs. We measured it, photographed it, and wrote down what isn't accessible too — read the notes.
What's next
Sleepy Bear Lodge is the first. More cabins in the hills are on the way, and we'll say so here the moment one is real.
“We built this place to be the kind of cabin we'd want to come back to, and we hope it treats you well.”Chris & Brasta · Sleepy Bear Lodge

A photograph of the two of us is coming; until then, the house will have to stand in.
